Building Industry Expert - Michael Vairin

Building industry veteran Michael Vairin is the driving force behind Builders Development Group, Inc., a new cutting-edge collaborative that brings top industry talent together to work in partnership on construction management, real estate consulting and distressed real estate management.

A natural leader with a gift for identifying, cultivating and motivating exceptional talent, Michael founded Builders Development Group (BDG) in 2010 after a successful 30-year career with Fieldstone Communities, Inc., and Deer Creek Development Company, and serves as the company’s President.

Prior to founding BDG, Michael led various departments within Fieldstone and created a start-up division of its Richmond American Homes in the Inland Empire. Serving as President of the Division, he organized office operations, developed the Division’s business plan, purchased more than 1,000 lots and delivered 128 units during the Division’s first year.

Michael also served at Fieldstone Communities' Senior Vice President of Community Development. In that role he led a team devoted to the acquisition and management of larger land assets and the management of distressed real estate assets.

During the early 2000s, Michael was responsible for developing the Sycamore Creek Master Plan, which was originally planned to include 1,700 lots and required extensive land acquisition, entitlement, development and merchant builder lot sales.

Throughout his career, Michael has surrounded himself with exceptional talent, believing that the best results come from strong teams that not only excel in their individual achievements, but are able to take collective ownership and work collaboratively to produce the best results possible.

It's this same team-building philosophy that has enabled Michael to pull together an extraordinary team of industry experts to provide BDG clients with construction management, real estate consulting and distressed real estate management services.

In addition to his duties at Builders Development Group, Michael spends much of his spare time giving back to his industry and his community.

A longtime industry advocate, Michael was recently elected 2010 President of the Building Industry Association of Southern California and is also a member of its Riverside Chapter Board of Directors. He previously served as a Board member of Ontario Christian High School and was a member of the Cal State University San Bernardino’s College of Education Steering Committee.

Because of his expertise and building industry affiliations, he is frequently asked to speak at building industry events.
